Ignoring the counsel of God and His prophets, the kingdom of Israel divides itself into two nations with two kings. The Divided Kingdom is filled with evil leadership, idolatry, and many merciful attempts by YHWH to bring them back into His presence. As the period ends, we see Israel falling nearer and nearer a final judgement from God, and we are reminded of God’s superiority as a better King than any earthly leader could hope to be.
