Ideas for Use

One method of using these cards is to magnetize them and use them on the wall, either as a time line with the SCRIPTURE SET cards, or for the STORY SET, as a basic review for each class period. We have tried the magnetic poster boards, which are not very conducive to the concept of time lines, unless you cut the board into strips. They are quite pricey, too, if you are wanting to use them in multiple rooms.

A new product we found on the Internet offers another option for magnetizing. It is called Magnetic Creations and can be found at www.mymagneticcreations.com. It is a magnetic wall treatment, similar to paint in application, but very thick and a little more difficult to apply. But once it is applied, it is wonderful! It has iron filings in the "goo" that is rolled onto the taped off wall, therefore making it magnetic.

You may purchase it online or possibly through your True Value Hardware Store, if they carry the quart size; ours didn't. We found that one quart ($19.99) will be sufficient to apply 2 or 3 coats for 3 or more classrooms if you only "paint" a 9-inch by 12-foot strip on a wall. Therefore, it was cheaper to purchase only a quart online and pay for shipping than to buy a full gallon at our local store. You may apply any color paint on top. We would recommend that you use the thicker roll magnets cut about 2" long to the back of the cards. They should adhere well and the younger children love being able to put them up themselves.

Caution: There are warnings on the label. Please read carefully and apply with adequate ventilation.
