Why teach drills? Obviously, memorizing will not, in and of itself, insure that a child's heart will become tender toward God, which is our ultimate goal as parents and teachers. But it will focus his or her mind on Him and aid in future studies, by having facts firmly implanted during the years when memorization comes so easily.
