About the Artist

I'm Brian Harber, from Goodlettsville, Tennessee (near Nashville). I have loved drawing for as long as I can remember. At age 7, I began taking art lessons, and had my first art show one year later. God has given me a wonderful gift, and I give all glory to Him in this effort to help others learn about His omniscient plan throughout time.

This project began in the fall of 2001, when my mom was teaching the kindergarten class at our congregation. She was using a detailed curriculum that contained 17 lessons on the life of Joseph, and she wanted a visual aid that would help the children keep the events in order. She called me into the den one evening and asked me to do a "simple, stick figure time line piece" for each lesson. "This is something you might enjoy doing," she said.

As the quarters passed, other teachers asked for the images as well. I continued drawing 'simple stick figures,' but began to give them more detail, like individual clothing and shading, working on making each character unique. I soon added backgrounds and shadowing. Soon, the images became as detailed as stick figures can be!

I would like to thank three wonderful ladies who have been the driving force of this project. Melanie Bingham has inspired and cheered me on to finish this task, and has been the best "agent" that anyone could ask for. And my sincere thanks goes to Nancy Tumlinson, who had enough faith in me to hire me to illustrate her marvelous curriculum, Our Spiritual Heritage. And I also thank Brenda Preuett, who took her time to teach a hyper 7-year-old boy the finer techniques of art. I owe a great deal to her.

I dedicate this project to "Mama B" (Brooksie Harber, 1932-1999), my late grandmother. She was a dedicated and serious Bible student who loved time lines. I know she would have been my greatest supporter in this effort. I hope she is proud of the work I have done.
